PGM-56: PoL Strategy #3

Summary

Move half of our Base PoL to a tBTC-PAL pool and the other half on Sonic to a PAL-scUSD pool for Rings arbitrage;

Context

Aerodrome has changed their tokenomics and have now reduced incentives to tokens paired with Connector tokens. DOLA not being one of them means we either have to switch the pair or stop our incentive strategy.

Rationale

Giving access to cheap liquidity to our community is extremely important for small holders. We believe adapting the pair to an asset uncorrelated to the main PAL-ETH on Ethereum is a good way to solve this. The incentives will be limited to 50x the fees of the pool.

Additionally, Mithras Labs has been working with Sonic to create an ecosystem stablecoin that should result in a large incentive market for Quest in the coming months. We recommend deploying a PAL-scUSD pool there at launch to benefit from the launch’s momentum.

Besides the large incentive campaign designated for bootstrapping, having a pair will introduce PAL to a whole new community that will only be able to get exposure to Rings through it.

Additionally we recommend to use the unspent budget for Aerodrome incentives as arbitrage incentives on Rings Quest to showcase its use and generate revenue from potential excessive efficiency of the marketplace. The profits will be used to buy back spent PAL and make the PAL-scUSD pool until it reaches a critical size of 50% of the mainnet flagship pool.

Means:

  • Same 20,000 PAL weekly budget for incentives

I assume we would change our liquidity in tandem with the release of rings? is there a timeline for this?

wait, so is this ecosystem stablecoin scUSD or is there another?

and I know rings is connected because of also being developed by mithras, but how would paladin profit from using pal-scusd intead of for example a more established pairing like pal-usdc? Will paladin be allocated rings tokens, or is there plans for a treasury swap or similar so paladin gets something from taking on additional scusd risk / possibly higher cost of liquidity?

think it’s good to move away from aerodrome and this can be good.

Nothing official yet, but hopefully this month.

Yes it is

Rings has no tokens or fees, but Quest will be its vote marketplace. Our goal is to fill in vote incentives when efficiency is excessively above 1 and buyback spent PAL.
